Class 2 Builders for Hire

Having produced an un-module header kit and published instructions for a rework-free “Option Ready” K2 build, we expect that our assembly method will eventually be embraced by the builder-for-hire community.  The beauty of this “marriage” is that you can start out with a less expensive K2 configuration, then upgrade it on your own by adding fully assembled options.  And you can do this without ever lifting a soldering iron!

Yes, the installation of some options does entail additional setup, re-alignment, or re-calibration.  However if you prefer, your builder can advise you which options these are and you can have them pre-installed.

For an easily upgraded K2 that’s built to a higher quality standard, we offer the following “short list” of expert builders.  Our evaluation criteria for these artisans are very simple … these are folks we would want building something for us!  Rest assured that they are among the finest on the planet!

Builders for hire, please contact us to to be considered for this list if you use our products and methods, and your workmanship inspection criteria meet the IPC-A-610 requirements for Class 2 (Dedicated Service), as summarized below.

IPC J-STD Electronic Assembly End-Product Classes
Class 1:  General – Products suitable for applications where the major requirement is the function of the completed assembly.  These would include consumer electronics products which are normally discarded when they cease to function.
Class 2:  Dedicated Service – Products where continued performance and extended life are required, and for which uninterrupted service is desired but not critical.  Traffic signals and cell phone towers would be in this category.
Class 3:  High Performance – Products which must function when required and for which the end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh.  These would include devices implanted in the human body, aircraft/spacecraft flight control systems, satellites, and interplanetary probes.
